Some more rambling:
Today was highly eventful: no fun-sock purchasing involved, but I got three pairs of white school socks. Hopefully this means no more horrendous blisters on the bottom of my ring-finger toes.
Ok, so you have your 'big toe' - but I always call the others 'pinky finger toe' etc... Do toes have their own names other than the Big one? Hmm, intriguing...
So 'twas in the city today that I saw the
W0man In Black (which I didn't know anything about before seeing)- I was wanting to use it as a Crime Fiction related text (haha! Yes! I am superior!) but this was a plan that didn't work out so well :( as there wasn't really any crime.. It was more about finding out if there was a crime than the solving of one. The audience was predominantly white-haired so I felt every one of my short 18 years...
In the quite shocking/scary bits of the Woman In Black, the old people
laughed! I was most appalled (aside from the fact I was feeling like clutching my mother's arm in fear). was this their way of dealing with their fear? Or did they know the story so well it was honestly humorous? Mumsy dearest was commenting that it must have been hard for the actors, who were trying to build up this great, strong and suspenseful performance, and then people cackling at it. Yes, cackling, the witches. And there was lots of coughing too. Admittedly, I have a cold too, but I'm only at the sneezing stage. And my sneezes are surprisingly small, so it's like they never happen. People often ask me what I'm doing when I clutch my face -
that was a sneeze?
So Study Camp was great, and I made some good friends, in my loner + anti-social nature. Hi Mr. Ponder! *waves at one who may or may not be reading*
My music cycle lately has been Tetris Allstars (RIP) and Uncle Chester's Triumphant Return which Shteve calls "so catchy". I want to buy a CD. V.V, <-- attemping carrot crying face.
Alas, Adelaide, I shall not see ye again for many months yet. I was trying to figure out how much a one-two week trip would cost, and unless I camp on the streets, it looks like my life savings will be gone.
At least it will be happily done!
Hmm..
Coffee note of the post: I'd better take some to Gregor's tonight.. I think his parents only have Nestle`... Hmm.. choices, choices... (as in which type to take) And I don't know what time his 'rents are going to want to kick us out of the house, so maybe I should take the decaf and just have plenty.. Oh, full cream milk...
I picked up some nice picture books at Borders. I have $1.40 left on my gift card from Kyle.. And I got a 15% voucher on my receipt, so on Saturday when I have my optometrist appointment, I'll dash off and get.. hm: DN Angel, Hot Gimmick or Wild Act? All manga, fyi.
Oh, embarrassing camp experience that confirmed my individuality: on the first night, after study session 1 or 2, I was hanging around with a couple of leaders and campers near the cabins, and we were asking questions eg. name, school... and then 'so what do you guys do for fun?' Oh dear... I'm such a hermit recluse. First of all, people don't know what Japanese animation is (do I have to degrade myself to the translation of 'cartoons'?), and then reading is considered (IMHO) a bad thing to say (even when with nerdy others at a STUDY CAMP), especially when other people reply 'oh, I just like doing the whole party circuit thing, you know' 'oh, cool'.
-.-' How depressing.
But I'm made how I am. So there. *pokes tongue out*
You know, I could almost use
Enthusiasm Police as a related text..
The Truth About Crime.. some real comments on society, there. Order from disorder... Similar problem to the Woman in Black - where's the detection? Oh, it would be classic.. Adelaide actually is all around. Well, I can use it as setting for creative writing.. ^_^
Poor lentilbeans (ooh, that's a new one!), she really needs to get out more.. ie. away from Gregor's house because Mt Colah is the place for pre-teener gangs. Sigh.. I'm sure the caffiene from earlier has worn out (I should have decaf tonight, just realised I've already had two), I must be high on happiness.
Who cares about conforming to the conventions of the syllabus definition of Crime Fiction. I don't know how famous the Enthusiasm Police will be by the time markers are working on my extension 1 english paper, but I think they won't know what the song is actually about.. ehehhhhhh.
Oh dear.
Perhaps sleep is in order? My excuse is I'm still recovering from a late session of Dead Man's Chest and the World Cup Final. Mmhmm..
