Last night, while at Courtyard Cafe, I got semi-pals Shane and Bryce to help me out. Favourite 80s songs? Or rather, a collection of essential 80s.. So I am asking you, the reader, to please contribute! I know, 'I only lived 5 years of the 80s', but really, you were dancing to all sorts of crazy tunes before the age of three. Anyway, once you pop you can't stop (as we found last night), and even on the way home us 90s kids were trying to think of other bands that were either excellent, one hit wonders, or quite terrible. So please, contribute to this wonderful cause.

Shane and Bryce's Essential Eighties Selection Mix

And thus ensues: an honourary invite to all youse in Radelaide - if 'twere possible, you could most certainly turn up at my 18th birthday party. There will be party bags. :P

My signed Bryce EP:

On the music frony, I'll be reattempting downloads of the Tetris Allstars while craving more pizza like the slice I just snacked on. And I've been playing some Snow Patrol and Beck myself, having fun seeing how far I can push the volume and gain on my baby amp before the mother stares in a glaring manner over the top of the newspaper. Yay.

(First time I posted this, it automatically deleted it and said I did. What's the deal, blogger? grr.)

Oh Lenny! Stealing my heart with eighties hits, how could you.

But how can you pass by Devo's classic, "Whip It", or the sombre sounds of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart"? And let's not forget the entire Paul Simon catalogue, as well as Big Audio Dynamite's "Oh Yeah" (from Ferris Bueller). In fact, any song from that film would serve you well.

So many eighties songs, so little time. If you are only allowed to play one song at your party, I insist that it's Talking Heads' classic "Once In A Lifetime". It will change your life.
